Privacy Policy
Learnfromjaya.com and jayalonzo.com (the "Website" or "Service") are owned and operated by Miju Enterprise LLC, which is the data controller of your personal data.
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes how personal information you provide on the Website and any related services (collectively, the "Services") is collected, protected, and used. It also describes your choices regarding our use of your personal information and how you can access or update it.
This Policy is a binding agreement between you ("User", "you", or "your") and Miju Enterprise LLC ("we", "us", or "our"). By accessing and using the Website and Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Policy.
This Policy does not apply to the practices of companies we do not own or control, or to individuals we do not employ or manage.
Automatic collection of information
Our servers and hosting provider keep standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited) needed to run the Website securely, diagnose problems, and spot abuse. We may also use standard website analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, to understand overall traffic in aggregate. This information is not used to identify a specific visitor personally, and we do not currently run advertising tracking pixels (such as Meta or TikTok pixels); if that changes, we will update this section to name the tools we use.
Collection of personal information
You can browse the Website without telling us who you are. If you register for coaching, sign up for our free cheat sheet, or contact us, we may collect:
Contact details, such as your name, email address, and phone number.
Booking details, such as your preferred coaching format, day, time, and start date.
Payment confirmation details needed to match your booking to your payment (see "Billing and payments" below). We do not receive or store your full card number.
Anything you willingly submit to us, such as messages, feedback, testimonials, or photographs.
We do not buy or acquire personal information about you from data brokers, public databases, or social media platforms. Everything we hold about you comes directly from you.
You can choose not to provide certain information, but you may then be unable to book a session or receive certain communications. If you're unsure what's required, just ask us.
Use and processing of collected information
We use the information we collect to:
Create and manage your booking
Deliver coaching sessions, including by video call through Google Meet or Microsoft Teams
Process your payment through our payment processors or by bank transfer
Send you confirmation, scheduling, and administrative emails
Send the free cheat sheet and, if you opt in, newsletter or promotional emails through MailerLite
Respond to your inquiries and provide support
Feature your testimonial, name, or photograph, only with your permission beforehand
Protect against fraud or abuse, and enforce our policies
Comply with legal obligations
Where required by law, our legal basis for processing depends on your consent, the need to perform our agreement with you (for example, to deliver a session you booked and paid for), or our legitimate business interests in running the Website and Services.
Billing and payments
We currently accept payment by Stripe, MamoPay, or direct bank transfer.
When you pay by Stripe or MamoPay, your card or payment account details are entered directly with that processor, not with us. Both are PCI DSS compliant payment processors responsible for the security of the payment information they handle, in accordance with their own privacy policies.
If you pay by bank transfer, we retain only the transfer reference and confirmation needed to match your payment to your booking. We do not store your bank login details.
We keep transaction records only as long as necessary to complete your booking and meet our accounting and legal obligations.
Managing information
You may ask us to delete, correct, or provide a copy of the personal information we hold about you at any time by contacting us. Some information may need to be retained for a period after your request to meet our legal, accounting, or dispute resolution obligations, as described under "Retention of information" below.
Disclosure of information
We share your personal information only with the specific service providers who help us run the Website and Services, currently:
Google Meet and Microsoft Teams, to deliver online coaching sessions
Stripe and MamoPay, to process payments
MailerLite, to send the free cheat sheet and any newsletter or promotional emails you sign up for
Our website hosting provider, to run the Website
These providers only receive the information they need to perform their function for us, and are bound by their own privacy and security practices. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with any other third party for that third party's own marketing purposes.
We will disclose personal information if required or permitted by law, such as to comply with a legal request, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.
Retention of information
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Services, comply with our legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements, after which it is deleted.
Transfer of information
Because we use service providers based outside the United Arab Emirates (such as Google, Microsoft, Stripe, and MailerLite), your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Each of these providers maintains its own security measures, described in their respective privacy policies.
The rights of users
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding the personal information we hold about you, including to access it, correct it, request its deletion, object to or restrict certain processing, or receive a copy of it in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We may ask you to verify your identity before responding.
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA)
You have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the rights listed above, the right to withdraw consent at any time where we relied on it, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
If you are a California resident
You may request, once a year, information about any personal information we shared with other businesses for their direct marketing purposes in the prior calendar year. As noted above, we do not share your information with other businesses for their own marketing purposes.
Privacy of children
Our Services are intended for users who are at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in their place of residence, consistent with our Acceptable Use Policy. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under this age. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Cookies
The Website uses cookies to help it function properly and, where used, to support the analytics described under "Automatic collection of information" above. Most browsers accept cookies automatically, but you can usually change your browser settings to decline them. If you decline cookies, some features of the Website may not work as intended.
Do Not Track signals
Browsers vary in how they send "Do Not Track" signals, and there is no accepted standard for how websites should respond to them. The Website does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals, though as described throughout this Policy we limit our collection and use of your personal information regardless.
Email marketing
If you sign up for our free cheat sheet or newsletter, we use MailerLite to send these emails. Your email address is stored in MailerLite's systems in accordance with their own privacy and security practices, in addition to this Policy. Every email will clearly identify who it's from and how to contact us, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in the email or by contacting us directly. You will still receive essential emails related to a booking you've made, such as scheduling confirmations.
Testimonials and photographs
We only feature a student's testimonial, name, or photograph on the Website or in our marketing with that student's clear permission beforehand. You can ask us to remove or stop using your testimonial or photograph at any time by contacting us.
Links to other resources
The Website may contain links to other resources not owned or controlled by us, such as Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Stripe, MamoPay, or MailerLite's own sign-up pages. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these resources, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies directly.
Information security
We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect the personal information in our care. However, no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data breach
If we become aware that the security of the Website has been compromised, or that users' personal information has been disclosed to unrelated third parties as a result of unauthorized activity, we will take reasonably appropriate steps, which may include investigation, notifying affected individuals by email where there is a reasonable risk of harm, and cooperating with law enforcement where necessary.
Changes and amendments
We may modify this Policy from time to time. When we make a material change to how we treat your personal information, we will update the date at the bottom of this page and, where appropriate, notify you directly. Continued use of the Website after an updated Policy is posted means you accept the changes. We will not use your personal information in a materially different way than stated at the time it was collected without your consent.
Acceptance of this policy
By accessing and using the Website and Services, you acknowledge that you have read this Policy and agree to its terms. If you do not agree, you are not authorized to access or use the Website and Services.
Governing law and jurisdiction
This Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Arab Emirates, as applied in the Emirate of Sharjah, including Federal Decree Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data where applicable, without regard to conflict of law principles. The parties irrevocably agree that the courts of the Emirate of Sharjah shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute arising out of or in connection with this Policy.
